Something for the guys - using Stampin' Up! ® products

I don't know about you, but I have found making cards for the guys in my life, extremely difficult. I decided to buy some of the more male focused stamp sets from Stampin' Up!, the Open Sea and Clockworks, and I must say these seem to be doing the job nicely.

My first card is a "case" (copy and share everything) from my upline Michelle Last. You can find her card here. I changed mine to use the Circles Thinlits and it received great feed back from my mother-in-law. She said my father-in-law was impressed. High praise indeed from someone who has little interest in birthdays and cards. Well I suppose when you've had 85 birthdays so far, you may be a little blasé about them!

My second card, also for my father-in-law (from the Bedlam Brothers), came about by playing around with the Clockworks stamp set.  I'm really pleased with the results. I have some ideas ticking around my head for this stamp set! (Oh alright, alright - I'll lay off the puns! lol).

I hope you find some inspiration from these if you also struggle with men's cards.

For these projects you will need:

Stamp sets: Clockworks, Open Sea, Express Yourself, Woodgrain Background
Inks: Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, Basic Grey, Smoky Slate, Staz On Black, Marina Mist & Soft Sky (for the sea and sky on the ship card),
Card Stock: Whisper White, Basic Grey, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit
Embellishments: Mini Brads
Dies: Circles Thinlits
