Gifts for my new Stampin' Up! Downline

I had two lovely ladies join me as Stampin' Up!® demonstrators during the recent "Short n Sweet" promotion. I was originally planning on sending out the pre-prepared notebooks I had ready for downline gifts, but decided last minute I wanted to try something else out instead.

I am an old fashioned paper girl and I love my paper organisers and prettily covered notebooks and I am always scrabbling around in my handbag for a pen and paper, I am guessing others have this issue too. The solution of course is a notebook holder with pen attached and I've seen plenty that you can buy in the shops and online that are perfect for the handbag, but why buy, when you can make using Stampin' Up! products?

I used the backing card that comes with Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper and sandwiched it between 2 sheets of Kraft card stock to form the holder. I glued in two square sticky note pads and some ribbon as a pen holder (I changed the pen for a slimmer one as the one in the picture was a bit too bulky). I stamped one of the smaller feathers from the Four Feathers (wood or clear) onto a Kraft spiral bound notebook with Versamark ink and heat embossed using Black embossing powder. I also glued the back of the notebook onto the holder.

The outside of the holder is stamped and heat embossed using one of the larger feathers from the same rubber stamp set. I used Basic Black 1/8" Taffetta Ribbon to keep the set closed.

I also made one using the Papillon Potpourri stamp set but I forgot to take a picture of it, but it was just as pretty. Now I just have to make myself one too. I can't decide which stamp set to use though. It was easy for my lovely ladies as I just chose sets I knew they had.

I have lots planned for this weekend. More decluttering and sorting out before our building project starts and hopefully a bit of crafting thrown in in the evenings. I hope you have a great weekend what ever you have planned. Leave me a comment and tell me what you are up to!

Thanks for stopping by x
