Look what we made in class.....

I held my monthly card class a week early this month (usually held last Thursday of the month) as I am away on holiday next week. Originally I wasn't going to hold one at all but decided after the last class to bring it forward as everyone was willing to come along.

I'm so glad I did, I had a great time and everyone loved the project we made especially as we used a few different techniques, which were new to some of the ladies, including using a wheel to stamp the butterflies and paper piercing, dry embossing as well as heat embossing. That's why classes are so good as you get to try out so many different techniques you haven't tried before and can decide if you like them before you invest in the kit to do them at home.

We started off making the 4 notelets in red, orange, yellow and blue. Where possible I used contrasting, darker tones of the same colour for the punched out butterflies. These were a happy accident as my original design for this class was a bit different. I'm glad it didn't work out though as I love how these butterflies turned out.

I think this has to be my favourite. The 3 rows of butterflies are stamped using the Butterfly Collection Jumbo wheel in Pool Party Ink. The butterfly punches are from Bermuda Bay cardstock and the notelet is finished off with a couple of rows of paper-pierced holes and a small Bermuda Bay button and white bakers twine bow.

I used different embellishments in different colours. This one used a Crushed Curry Candy dot and brad base.

We then completed the project by making the notelet holder. The eagle eyed among you will notice I have cased a card from page 90 of the Annual Catalogue to decorate the front of the box lid.  Phew... no wonder the class overran a little but no-one seemed to mind.

I was recently contacted by someone, who was interested in coming to my class but it was a little bit far for her to come and it got me thinking that there must be other people out there who would love to attend classes and crafty get togethers as crafting with other people is so much fun. You instantly have something in common to talk about and break the ice when you first meet someone new. So what about you? Are you in the same position where there is no class nearby to you? Have you ever thought about becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and holding your own classes? It's not that hard you know. I started off by inviting friends, then took out a free advert in the free local paper and also my Stampin' Up! website all of which is helping my class to grow.

If you are interested I would love to talk to you and share my experience with you. So come on - come and join in all the fun! Give me a call on 07788746908 or email me at tracyj.may71@gmail.com
