Pinkies Sale-a-bration Blog Hop.........using Stampin' Up! ® products

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We're showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using new Stampin' Up!® products that you can earn free during Sale-a-Bration. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!

If you have arrived here from Christa's blog, welcome. I hope you have enjoyed seeing what we have all been busy creating.

My project today is a birthday wall hanger. I'm rubbish at remembering people's birthdays. No, seriously I am. I even forgot my Mum's 40th when I was in my first term at University, and ask my younger sister!! I can never remember, whether hers is the 4th or the 5th October. So one (of my many) getting organised resolutions, has been to get better at getting people's birthday cards out to them on time.

I started off by typing birthdays into a timeline plan on some software on my laptop, but then I saw a post on Facebook of a fantastic wooden Family birthday wall hanger.

Bingo!

I instantly thought of card stock, DSP and ribbon but then my eye was caught by the trio of Baker's twine I had just received FREE in my Spring/Summer catalogue demo pre-order. Together with the Sweet Sorbet DSP and the Decorative Dots TIEF (Textured Impressions Embossing Folder) I had the perfect ingredients for my organiser.

I started with cutting Birthday out of Pistachio Pudding with my Typeset Alphabet Bigz Die and mounting it onto the spotty patterned DSP from the SAB Sweet Sorbet pack. Then I embossed Sahara Sand card stock to form the base. I then punched 12 coloured 3/4" circles on which to write the months.

I also used coloured 3/4" circles to write the date and name of the birthday person on and stuck these onto lengths of the Baker's twine.

Finally I cut a length of each of the 3 colours of the Baker's twine, knotted it at one end and platted the 3 colours together to form one stronger length of twine which I attached to the back of the wall hanger. I also backed the wall hanger with the strong cardboard that comes with the glitter DSP packs.

To recreate this project you will need"

Card Stock: Sahara Sand 12x12", Pistachio Pudding, Summer Starfruit, Basic Black, Whisper White, Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe,
Tools: Typeset Alphabet Bigz Die, 3/4" Circle Punch

The free sale-a-bration items used are:
Decorative Dots TIEF
Sweet Sorbet DSP
Baker's Twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessories pack

So next stop is Nicky's blog, why don't you go and take a peek at what she has been up to? Thanks for stopping by........
