100th Blog post giveaway & Gift box ideas with Stampin' Up! products

Good morning, everyone. I hope you are having a great bank holiday (UK), long weekend elsewhere.

Well this is my 100th post - woohoo. Soooo if you live in Austria, France, Germany, the Netherlands or the UK, leave me a comment for the chance to win a packet of Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper.

The winner will be picked at random. The draw will close at 10pm BST Tuesday 27th May 2014. I will contact the winner by email to get their delivery address details.

Well we've been super busy again with parties both the boys own party and their friends, so I thought I would share some gift wrapping ideas with you. These are the actual gifts for the parties the boys were invited to.

The first gift box is for a little girl made with the Envelope Punch Board. I used a fantastic spreadsheet by a super talented fellow pinkie, Caroline - Crafty Hallet, which you can find here. It's very simple to use, all you need to do is enter the measurements (length, width and depth) in centimetres, of the box you want to make, and the spreadsheet works out what size card stock or DSP you need to start with and where your first and second punch and score points are on the board.

The second gift box is an oversized lego brick. I saw a fantastic little matchbox size lego brick box on Pinterest a little while ago (click here to see it), which gave me the idea of making a large one for the lego kits I buy for my elder son's friends, when he is invited to their birthdays. I don't think you can go far wrong with lego as far as kids are concerned really.

I made a personalised tag and slipped it inside the box.

The box is so easy to make. You simply measure the width, length and depth of the lego box that you want to go inside (or any other boxed gift), then add 2 x the depth to the length and width to get the size of the bottom of the box.
e.g. the lego box I used measured 19cm long, 14cm wide and was 4.5cm deep so I added 9cm to the length and width meaning I cut 2 pieces of 12x12" Real Red card stock to 23cm x 23cm. I then scored it on all 4 sides at 4.5cm using my Stampin' Trimmer, snipped up the score lines on one side of all 4 corners and stuck together using sticky strip (double sided sticky tape). For the top I simply adjusted the score line down to 4.4 cm all the way around

I punched out two thumb hole semi-circles so the lid could be removed more easily. Then I punched out 6 1 3/4" circles of Real Red and adhered them to the lid, with Stampin' Dimensionals to raise them up.

Simples!

I hope you've enjoyed today's projects. Check out the list of "ingredients" below:

    1. Hey Delphine, the boys were ecstatic with their party. They had been to one earlier as well, so they were both hyper and shattered by the end of the day! It did not mean they slept in yesterday though!!! :-)
