Create watercolour backgrounds with your Stampin' Up! Embossing Folders & new weekly deals

Good morning everyone. The sun is shining and its set to be a beautiful day. I must have had a premonition for today's post, I think, as I wanted to make a bright cheery sun-shiny card to showcase today's photo tutorial.

To create the Scallops background I used the following technique:

Step 1: Cover the raised side of your embossing folder with ink by tapping your ink pad all over it. I covered 3 rows each with (top to bottom) So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry).

Step 2: Spritz the ink with water

Step 3: Lay a piece of watercolour paper on top of the inked side and close the folder over. Rub the back of the folder all over to transfer the watery ink to the watercolour paper.

Step 4: Remove the watercolour paper carefully and allow to dry. You can also dry with a heat tool.

You can also create inked backgrounds without the water - simply miss out step 2.

To finish the card, I cut out various starbursts (suns) using the starburst framelits and stitched them onto the scallops background, which I also stitched onto a Perfect Pumpkin card base. The little baker's twine bow and paperclip are hiding a little mistake in the stitching round the edges! Well it was late after all and mistakes do happen! Lol!

For today's card I used:

Stamp Set: Starburst Sayings wood or clear
Ink pads: Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Crushed Curry
Card Stock: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Crushed Curry
Embellishments: Paperclip from Hip Hip Hooray Kit, Tangerine Tango Baker's Twine from Tag A Bag Accessory Kit
Tools: Starburst Framelits, Scallops Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

I hope you have enjoyed today's tutorial. Don't forget to check out this week's Weekly deals! Good news this promotion has been extended into May!
