A New Home card with Stampin' Up!'s Life's Adventure

I really enjoyed making today's card. It's one that took a bit of jiggery pokery to get it to how I wanted and I only had to start over once, which was bonus lol!

Good friends of ours moved house on Monday and I was dropping some things off for them at their new house yesterday and wanted to take a card with me to welcome them into their new home. Stampin' Up!'s hostess set Life's Adventure (wood or clear) has the perfect rubber stamp of a little house.

The image in the stamp set is of a single house, so I used the stamp-a-majig and masking with sticky notes to create the row of houses. I stamped in StazOn black. I stamped the sentiment using the new Back to Basics Alphabet Photopolymer stamp set. No need to use the stamp-a-majig for that. I simply drew a faint pencil line as a guide and stamped free-style, rubbing the guide line out once I'd finished.

Once I had the row of houses, I coloured the grass (Pistachio Pudding), sky (Soft Sky) and houses (Cajun Craze) using a Stampin' Up! Blender pen and some ink from the Classic Ink pads. The doors and blinds are coloured with Real Red, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry and Garden Green and the bush is coloured in Mossy Meadow

I was after a watercolour effect so I wasn't too careful about staying in the lines or evenly applying the ink. I love the effect.

I'm not sure if my friends like the card, as in my rush to get the car packed up and  on the road, I completely forgot to take it with me!! I'll have to pop it in the post to them today!

  1. I'm exactly the same, I like to prepare my cards in advance (well... 2 hours before is still advance, right ?) and then forget to give it or send it :-/ Anyway, I like these little houses... so british :) I'll sure miss mine...
